Porsche Panamera 4S
If you are looking for something roomier, but not quite an SUV, look no further than the Panamera, Porsches 4-door performance model that offers a luxuriously comfortable ride for all passengers, as well as a powerful and in-control experience for the driver. This model is designed with the drivers in mind who want uncompromising Porsche engineering but are looking for something a bit more spacious without upgrading to an SUV and sacrificing power and handling.
This sports sedan does it all. The first in its class to have an automatic, double-clutch shifter and an engine start and stop system means that this model is superior for saving gas, and the environment, without giving up power and performance. Active suspension allows the driver to choose if the vehicle operates like a sedan or a sports car, meaning that you have even more control over your experience when you are behind the steering wheel.
AWD gives you maximum control over the 4.8L, 395 horsepower engine while hitting top speeds of up to 175 mph, and 0-60 acceleration in just over 4 seconds.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo
If you are looking for space and comfort in an SUV form with classic Porsche aesthetics, then the Cayenne is an excellent option. The turbo model gives the driver and all passengers the ultimate experience in comfort and style without sacrificing power. Enjoy your ride with the smooth suspension, adjustable height, and locking differential on the AWD platform to have maximum control over your driving environment in all occasions.
The Cayenne Turbo is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.5 liter V8 and a 6-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox. This powerful engine boasts 514 horsepower, with a 0-60 acceleration of around 5 seconds, and a top speed of 171 mph, meaning that although you are getting more vehicle, you are not giving up as much power and speed as you would expect from an SUV.
A Brief History of Porsche
Dr.-Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, the official name of the more-commonly known Porsche AG, is a German auto manufacturer who produces high-end sports cars, SUVs, and sedans. They are located in Stuttgart, Germany, and is owned by Volkswagen AG. The company was first founded in 1931 as a consulting firm for vehicle and engine development, without the original intention of creating their own vehicles. One of the firm’s first projects resulted in the original Volkswagen Beetle, and the Porsche 64 was then designed off of the Beetle. The 64 was the first vehicle to bear the name “Porsche.”
After World War II, founder Ferdinand Porsche was arrested by the British for war crimes, and the Volkswagen factory was turned over to the control of Ivan Hirst, a British Major. Ultimately, Porsche was not tried for the war crimes he was arrested for and was released in 1947.
As a result of the original Volkswagen, the Beetle, being designed by the Porsche firm, there has been a historic interconnectedness between the two companies. Although it is mentioned above that Porsche AG is owned by Volkswagen AG, Volkswagen AG is, in turn, owned by Porsche Automobil Holding SE, yet another testament to the closeness of the two companies.
Since the companies post-war restructuring, it has grown into one of the most easily recognizable and widely respected sportscars of the past 100 years. In fact, the company was deemed “the most prestigious luxury automobile” by the Luxury Institute in 2008 after being voted as such by a survey of 500 families with a gross annual income of at least $200,000 and a net worth of at least $720,000 were polled.
